One of the youngest Gdańsk museums, it opened its doors in June 2006. Its headquarters is the historic, unique in Europe, Gothic and Renaissance Foregate Complex of Długa Street.

It is located in the center of the city's tourist routes crossing. It consists of three parts: the Prison Tower, the Neck with the Prison House and the Torture Chamber. Once it was a key element of the fortifications of medieval Gdańsk.

Attractions of the Amber Museum:

  • Presentation of the history of amber, its properties, acquisition and processing throughout history - from the earliest times to the present day.
  • Many examples of great monuments of ancient art, such as - cubicles, caskets, altars, medallions, cutlery.
  • Contemporary products of artistic craftsmanship and modern jewelry of eminent designers shown in an avant-garde arrangement using multimedia.
